The legendary Special lieutenants are members of the special crew that you can get in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Once they are added to the crew of the Adrestia they will enhance certain features of your boat. You will only have four active crew members at the same time, making it necessary to get the best lieutenants available. They will generally not be easy to recruit but thanks to this guide you will be able to find out how to do it as easily as possible.

The way the game will allow you to recruit new people for your crew normally consists of recruiting NPCs encountered throughout history or defeating mercenary bounty hunters. However, even enemy camp commanders can occasionally appear to be legendary and there is a way to use this to your advantage.
First you'll have to find a camp you've already looted. This may not work with all kinds of camps, what we have tried is the Amphikleia Military Camp. You'll find it in Phokis, north of the Sanctuary of Delphi. You will need a military camp or fortresses: avoid hunter camps as they will also have long-range units.
A volt arrived use Ikaros to observe the area and mark the captain. Stand in front of the entrance and hit him with an arrow. Once you've done this run away and when you're outside the camp, the indicator at the top of the screen will turn yellow. The captain will then follow you out but no alarms will go off. Defeat him outside his camp and then recruit him. Important: Do not complete the camp looting (do not loot or fight any other enemy).
After a few seconds, a second captain will make an appearance. Use Ikaros once again to scout and repeat the process. Unfortunately, not all captains who appear will be legendary, so you will have to repeat the process and recruit only the legendary ones.
This method takes advantage of a glitch that could be patched in the future by Ubisoft so use it while you can. There is however a second method to make sure you get a legendary lieutenant from every field you conquer. Save the game before you clash and then use Ikaros to see what level the captain is. If it is not a legendary one, simply reload the game: you will find a different captain inside the camp. This way you can make sure you find all the legendary lieutenants you need without using glitches in the game.
