To make things a little easier for Pokémon Go players, Niantic has released all the Spotlight Hour events and which Pokémon will be available to them throughout the month of April. You will know all the time for your region, which Pokémon you can expect to see more of, and see bonuses for capturing that Pokémon during the given time.
Each of the events takes place on a Tuesday from 18 p.m. to 19 p.m. local time. All you have to do is open your Pokémon Go and you are ready to participate. The Spotlight event features the highlighted Pokémon, among others appearing more frequently during the period.
The events are distributed as follows:
- April 7: Purrloin will be in the spotlight and everyone will gain double the experience points by capturing them.
- April 14: Mangemite will be in the spotlight and everyone will receive twice as many candy for Mangemite after capturing it.
- April 21: Wobbuffet will be in the spotlight and everyone will receive twice as many candies for Wobbuffet after capturing it.
- April 28: Pidgey will be in the spotlight and everyone will receive twice the experience for evolving this Pokémon during the event.
Niantic wanted to make these flagship events more transparent by posting all information in advance. Previously, the events featured in Pokémon Go were mysterious and did not hold any information.
The only information you had was what time the event started. None of the bonuses were shared, nor what we Pokémon were going to be in the spotlight. With the information fully shared with the community, we hope that more players will get involved and have their expectations set before the start of the event. We can expect to receive monthly updates for the Spotlight Hour event in the future.
