Best armor sets in Wasteland 3 - locations, boosts, and drawbacks

Before diving too deep into Wasteland 3, beginners should understand that taking the time to research superior armor sets is incredibly essential. Unlike the base sets, these can be very resistant to elemental damage, dramatically change melee damage, and obviously offer a major bonus in terms of defense. While you don't have the required Force level yet, here's what you'll want to collect pronto.

Power armor

This set is probably the first one you want to use, as the location of each element is not far beyond the starting point. The full set increases your armor effect up to 45 and will allow you to heal 50% faster. The helmet has a decisive backhand, with your Hit Chance taking a -20 dive. You will need to reach Force level 8 to use it.

Where to find it: Legs and Chest can be found in crates in Ranger HQ, with the Power Helmet in a Garage Locker inside the Energy Site.

ChemTek Armor

The ChemTek set is also great for those with a low level of Strength, as you only need to be a level 4. When equipped together you will have +32 damage and increased healing. You will need to have Weird Science up to level 6 to attach each item.

Where to find it: This set requires a lot of users. First, you'll want to go to Santa's Workshop, with a crate inside containing the legs. The chest can be purchased from Sister Nancy in the ruins of Denver, as the helmet will be hidden in the dentist's office at Bizarre Exterior.

Nuclear Armor

Don't run after this set just yet, as it's probably the last one that rewards you. However, it adds even more replayability once you earn it. With the full set, you'll see +61 armor, making you almost untouchable. This type of high-level defense doesn't come without a grip, as Hit Chance drops from 36.

Where to find it: At the end of the game, the set will be offered by Satoshi if you do not open the mysterious case.

Exoskeleton armor

You may not want to be a shooter for this set. Melee damage increases by 30%, and armor bonus is a respectable +53. With such a high number, you will need at least a 7th level of Strength. Additionally, make sure your Weird Science is 3 or higher.

Where to find it: Removing one of the Juvies from the Abandoned Oil Well will unlock the helmet. However, the legs are deep inside the paint mines, and the chest requires you to kill the almighty Colorado Patriarch.

Verchitine armor

It's the best. No debate, necessary. Having the full set grants you stunning +72 armor, and each piece also offers higher resistance to heat, cold, and energy damage. However, with great power comes great responsibility. You will need to push to Strength level 9 or higher to use each item in the set.

Where to find it: To get the full set, you'll need to grab all five pieces of the Golden Toaster. Once completed, all of the coins can be found in crates in West Yuma.
