One of the ways to pass the Animal Crossing: New Horizons time is by fishing. As you walk by the rivers and the sea, you will see fish that you can catch using your fishing rod. But what about when you can find fish and want to catch them for a Nook Miles feat?
This is when Fish Bait would come in handy, and luckily you can get some in the game. To get Fish Bait, you first need to find a Japanese clam. If you head to the beach and go up and down you'll see a little dark spot on the sand every now and then. It will spit out small jets of water from time to time.
Dig there with your shovel and you should find a Japanese clam. When you find your first Japanese clam, you automatically learn the Fish Bait recipe, so head straight to the workbench and you can make it. It only takes one clam to do it.
When you have the fish bait, go to a river or the sea, open your inventory and select it. Choose "Scatter Food" and you will throw the fish bait into the water, which will attract fish.
