There is no subway in Night City. CD Projekt Red has no plans to include it in Cyberpunk 2077. Anyone expecting its appearance in a late patch will be disappointed. The subway will probably live forever in the paradise of features cut in development.

For the time being, the subways in Cyberpunk 2077 are simple stations that allow you to travel quickly between various locations in the city, without actually entering them. In short, the classic fast travel system, as seen in hundreds of video games. Players, however, found several traces of an unused monorail among the game files and recalled several times how a public transport-related system was present in early promotional material, such as in the E3 2018 trailer. So they went on to ask if, by any chance, the subway would be added with some post-launch update.

The answer is no. The one who said it directly was Marcin Momot, CD Projekt Red's global community manager, who wrote on Twitter in response to a fan who posted another hint about the existence of the subway:

"Sorry to have to put the rumors to rest, but it's just not. There are no plans to add the subway to the game."

Momot then added, to the fan's disappointment:

"No problem, but I reiterate: it may not be the best news, but we want to be transparent and tell it like it is."
