The roads add a touch of civilization to the crumbling world of. Unfortunately, they are really difficult to build. Building a single section of road is very resource intensive. You will often need 4 to 6 of them to connect very distant towns on the map. You will never be able to build them all yourself, but there are ways to make it easier to build communities!

How to grow for lots and lots of materials

To build roads, you'll need a ton of Chiral Crystals, Metals, and Ceramics. Typically, you will need about 300 ~ chiral crystals and 2 ~ for metal and ceramics. To rebuild a road, go to the pre-placed foundation and hold (Options) to access the Structure menu. There you can donate all or part of the required material.

All donated materials will stay there permanently, and unlike other structures, roads cannot be destroyed. Once a road is built, it remains forever. The roads provide electricity so that any vehicle or exoskeleton will not run out. You can boost wildly on the go!

Like everything in Death Stranding, the roads are a community project. You don't need to put all the resources on a route. You can donate part of the route, but finishing the construction is better - you will earn likes every time someone drives on your route. Your online ranking will skyrocket after building just a few roads.

So how do you get tons of resources for roads? Like everything, there is chance. But you will want to loot MULE or terrorist camps. These camps are chock full of resources, so I recommend you bring a truck. There are always trucks patrolling these areas - they are marked yellow on your map.

Hijack an enemy truck or bring your own. You will need to equip a SMG or non-lethal assault rifle to clear the area. It can be done relatively quickly. Just alert enemies (they'll be looking for you) and sit tight, picking up enemies as they approach. Just remember not to kill them. Killing a human is bad news. You will have to burn the body. It's a big problem.

Besides MULE / Terrorist Camps, you'll also find tons of easy-to-collect resources at Prepper settlements. These remote areas are places you will rarely visit. They don't have a Fast-Travel room. You can loot additional resources from these locations - they'll usually have over 1.

Here's another little trick you can use to get tons of resources. Search the shared locker - sometimes you'll come across resource stacks or you can just pull out some gear and recycle it for a quick infusion. Frequently visited locations, such as distribution centers, are prime locations for raiding and recycling.

Don't feel bad about taking other players' business. It's just because you are building roads, the best resource in the desert.
