Defection game mode guide - Warframe

Defection is one of Warframe's types of endless missions, which means it will continue through rotations, becoming increasingly difficult, until the player decides to check out. In Defection, you must help the Kavor Defectors survive as they pass through the ship.

Kavor Defectors

Once you've spawned and hacked the first set of doors, Kavor's Defectors will start their spawn timer. 30 seconds later, they will appear and be marked on your minimap. You have to join the party and escort them to the first point of their journey, which is a Med Booster that looks like survival pods from survival missions.

There are two main threats as you progress through the level, the endless hordes of Infested who will spawn and attempt to kill the Defectors, and they will float into the atmosphere. You will need to make sure the Med boosters are loaded and allow Defectors to heal on them before continuing.

Power cells from Med boosters are dropped by carriers of Mutalist Ospreys, so kill as many as possible, and it can help to always have a power cell with you and use your secondary weapon to deal with the Infested. . Escort the Kavor from where they spawn to Booster Med, let them heal, then escort them to their extraction point. As long as you make sure to remove the infested ones, they shouldn't have a problem doing so.

You can speed up respawn windows, which is normally 40 seconds after saving a party, but by pressing a button on a console near the Med Boosters. This will cause the next group to spawn for this Med Booster, but can cause a problem if you have too many Defector groups on the map at one time, as you will be scattered trying to protect them.

Rotations

Both groups of survivors are considered a rotation, with player extraction becoming available after the first two. The rotations follow an A, A, B, C pattern for rewards.

You can find Defection Missions at the following nodes on the Star Map:

  • Memphis sur Phobos
  • Caracol on Saturn
  • Jursa sur Neptune

The best weapons to use are large floor cleaning weapons like Ignis, Ignis Wraith, Arca Plasmor, and melee weapons like whips and guns that have long range stats.
