Details of Minecraft Snapshot 20W10A

Minecraft's new snapshot continues to focus on the Nether, as Mojang prepares for the release of the Nether update later this year. New ambient sounds have been added to the Nether biome, and you must now use the Smithing table to craft Netherite.

There have also been some changes to fish spawns and enchantments that you can use on Hoes.

You can find all the details about the new snapshot below.



NEW FEATURES IN 20W10A

  • Added crimson and warped hyphae - “stem” blocks all sides, including stripped variations
  • Use a forge table to fuse the Netherite Ingot with your diamond weapon / tool / armor
  • New ambient sounds for Nether biomes

CHANGES IN 20W10A

  • Fish now disappear more than 64 blocks from the nearest player
  • Hoes now look more like other tools used to break blocks
  • Updated textures for Netherite objects
  • Barter loot has been tweaked once again to bring back Soul Sand, make Netherite hoes less common, and remove / add items to better suit Survival players

HOE CHANGES

We've made some changes to Hoes to make them more useful in the Nether.

  • Each level has a different speed at which the Hoes Mine Blocks they are effective against
  • Hoes can now be enchanted with the following enchantments: Efficiency, Fortune, Silk Touch
  • These enchantments can now be provided through the enchanted table.

  • Soul Sand is back!
  • Netherite Hoe much less common
  • Shroomlight removed
  • Distorted mushroom removed
  • Adding iron nuggets

TECHNICAL CHANGES IN 20W10A

ENTITY UUIDS

  • UUIDs for owners of projectiles, such as arrows or snowballs, are now stored as an array of four integers. All UUIDs will be stored in this format in the future

NEW LABELS FOR ARTICLE FRAMES

  • Invisible - make the element's frame invisible (the element inside the frame remains visible)
  • Fixed - prevents the object's frame from being broken and the item inside from being removed

TARGET_HIT ADVANCEMENT TRIGGER TYPE

  • signal strength corresponds to the power of the signal emitted by the block on hit
  • shot matches the projectile entity
  • shooter corresponds to the player who fired or launched the projectile

  • MC-131046 - Angry dolphins give players dolphin grace
  • MC-146824 - Inconsistency: Ladders and tripwire hooks cannot be placed on the sides of redstone blocks, spotters and target blocks

  • MC-152441 - Corner quartz stairs (not wedge smooth quartz stairs) do not have a border at the back / bottom that a normal quartz stair would have

  • MC-172082 - Piglins do not serialize their conversion time
  • MC-172242 - Left-handed piglets do not look at gold bars in their right hand
  • MC-172567 - Withered skeletons do not automatically attack piglets
  • MC-173021 - Unnecessary warning is logged when server receives incorrect vehicle movement packets
  • MC-173090 - Attacking baby piglets does not anger adult piglets
  • MC-173165 - Piglin Bartering Loot Table contains additional "set_count" function
  • MC-173168 - Word "save" appears instead of phrase "save".
  • MC-173169 - Piglins still aren't attracted to motorized rails
  • MC-173176 - Serialization error affecting operator list and whitelist

Snapshots are available for Minecraft: Java Edition. To install the snapshot, open the Minecraft launcher and enable snapshots in the "Installations" tab.



Snapshots can corrupt your world, so please save them and / or run them in a different folder from your main worlds.
