How to win races
Before even getting into the driving tips itself, the first tip for winning a race is to keep an eye on your map. This will not only tell you where the other riders are if they are nearby, but it will also kind of allow you to see ahead of you to know what is going on with the track design.
In fact, that really comes into play by giving you an overview of the curves, which we've covered how to get around in another guide that you can read. You can read the full strategies on how to do it here, but we recommend enjoying the curves by bouncing off other riders taking the inside track on the curve. This will usually allow you to bypass a number of them at once, which can really pay off.
When you've gotten past the curves you want to push it into high gear and try to get as much speed as possible. While taking advantage of curves gives you the most ground, taking advantage of straights can also help. At the very least, it will keep you from falling behind the pack.
Once you get a lead it is wise to start being a little conservative. Rather than trying to use tactics you might have used earlier to maneuver around tight corners, you might want to go a little easier once you have a decent lead. Typically, your opponents won't catch up with you unless you start to make mistakes, like going off course or turning around, both of which are very possible in curves and turns. That's why sometimes it may even be best to almost stop around the curve and then quickly come back once you're in the right direction to continue. It's not something you can afford to do in a very tight race, so keep an eye out for the position of other runners on the map.
It's hard to say that there are specific things you can do to win each race. Here are some tips that should help you at least have a better chance of doing it. However, if you're still struggling you can always lower the difficulty level, as the default game is normal and has an easy, very easy level below which you can switch over and try out instead.
