Everything about the Go Battle Day: Marill event in Pokémon Go

To celebrate the launch of the new Battle League rankings in Pokémon Go, developer Niantic is launching the first Go Battle Day event with Marill. During the event, players who participate in the Battle League have the chance to meet a Marill after winning specific battles. The hope is that players acquire Marill's capture to transform one into Azumarill, a Water and Fairy-type Pokémon that many trainers use during the Great League.

You will only be able to meet Marill for the Go Battle Day event on Sunday, April 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. in your local time zone. During this time, you will meet a Marill for your first and third battle rewards while participating in the Battle League for the base level. However, if you use a premium battle pass, every victory will be Marill. This does not disrupt other potential encounters, such as players reaching Rank 10 receiving their encounter with a Free Pikachu. All players will be able to participate in 20 battles during the day rather than the standard 15.

When you capture Marill, you'll receive twice as much Stardust as you typically would. However, you won't get more Marill Candy, which might limit it to the number of players that can evolve a Marill during this event. The Master League will take place during this time, which means players can use any available Pokémon they've ever captured without a maximum CP restriction. This could make it more difficult for players who are struggling in the Main League to obtain a Marill during the event.

We may see more Go Battle Day events in the future after this event. It will likely feature a decent Pokemon that trainers often use in one of the Battle Leagues to help those who want to continue developing their skills. Hopefully, if we do, future ones will feature the particular Pokemon with some extra candy.

Don't miss the Marill event starting Sunday, April 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. in your local time zone.
