Ghostrunner is an upcoming action platformer from One More Level, 3D Realms, and Slipgate Ironworks. In a cyberpunk universe, you control a parkour master who runs over the wall and wields a sword that can jump, climb and sprint towards destruction. With a mix of post-apocalyptic and sci-fi, neon lights and rainy buildings feel like a unique environment for the player to run around in. If Mirror's Edge's phenomenal parkour gameplay were combined with the highly engaging first-person swordplay and abilities of the Dishonored franchise, you'd end up with Ghostrunner.
Game mechanics
Ghostrunner is fast-paced with addicting moves and platforming mechanics, making him unique in his likenesses while causing the same bad feeling of running fast and killing everything in your path. Explosions, blood and speed combine to create a game that is simply fun and satisfying.
capacity
The player will receive abilities like Dishonored, such as a slowing ability. These allow the player to achieve as many highly skilled and ridiculous wins as possible. The game is very punitive for the player and the enemies, which means it is easy to kill one hit, but it goes both ways.
Difficulty
The game is extremely difficult and has been compared to Super Meat Boy in that you will fail and fail over and over again. Trying the same parts over and over leads to learning how to do every jump, climb and fight to create for yourself the best possible battle scenario. Learning from mistakes and putting all available abilities into the arsenal will put the player at the peak of their performance. With a little practice and a bit of a learning curve, good players will be feeling like a superhero in no time.
Release date
Ghostrunner has a release date of 2020, with no specific date yet. A new Gamescom trailer was released on August 30, and One More Level alerted us to stay tuned for more details on September 15. It is presumed that this is for the pre-release beta, available to anyone who signs up to receive access.
