Everything you need to know about Piglin Brutes in Minecraft

While the latest Minecraft update doesn't make any drastic changes, 1.16.2 introduced the last unfriendly monster to the game: the Piglin Brute. These monsters are not kidding. If you have no armor, a single hit from their Golden Ax in any but easy mode will take you out in two hits.

That said, Piglin Brutes is built with a bunch of strengths and weaknesses. Learn them and use them to your advantage.

Spawning

Unlike all of the other Piglin races that spawn all over the Nether, Brute Piglin will only spawn inside Bastion Remnants: a randomly generated structure full of creatures, gold, and treasure. To top it off, while all Piglins and Zombiefied Piglins can respawn, Brutes do not appear until after World Generation. Once you've killed them all, that leftover Bastion will remain Brute-free for the rest of your roster.

Equipment

Piglin Brutes will never spawn with armor and cannot pick up armor. The only equipment they have is the golden ax they spawn with. He may or may not be enchanted and has a 15,5% chance of falling to his death.

Agro and battle

Piglin Brutes needs blood. They can open doors like normal Piglins, but are not overpowered by gold or by you wearing gold armor. If you open a chest, they will hear it, and even flutter on the other side of a wall, and find their way to you.

Be warned, however, that other Brutes and Piglins, regardless of armor type in the area, will also agitate you once the first Brute does. Their health, damage, and tactics are very similar to that of an illager vindicator, but they have one more heart, giving the Brutes 25 hearts of health in total.
