Facebook Messenger: integration with Spotify arrives!

Facebook Messenger is gradually losing the appearance of an app exclusively dedicated to instant chat, to take on features that make it more and more similar to a service platform - actually the exact goal of the social networking giant.

Starting today, the app is enriched even more thanks to the integration with an extremely used service: Spotify! Now it is indeed possible send Spotify songs from within the floating Messenger window without ever leaving the app. Only requirement: the Spotify app must be installed on the device.

Doing so is very simple: it will be enough, within a chat window, tap the ellipsis icon (the three horizontal dots) present bottom right select Spotify.

The app will open and the search bar will appear, along with your playlists: you can search for a song in the Spotify archive or select one from your playlists.

The game is done: just tap on the song, grant (if you have not already done so) the access permissions to Messenger and voilà, this it will be instantly sent to your contact, that will be able to open it simply by tapping on it.

This further confirms the intentions of Facebook, whose goal is to make money Messenger the central - and only - node of the messaging experience between contacts, incorporating everything a user might need - from sending money to SMS, passing through GIFs and, from today, music.

Being a server-side modification, there will be no need to update Messenger to get integration with Spotify; the process is completely automatic.
