Fractal Design Celsius + S36 Dynamic • Dynamic AIO liquid cooler review

Fractal Design has been a point of reference for those looking for several years now products di high quality and cared for in every detail.

What we discover together today is a very particular liquid heatsink as it implements a functionality based on dynamism.

Fractal Design Celsius + S36 Dynamic • Technical specifications

Il Fractal Design Celsius+ S36 Dynamic is a dynamic liquid heatsink that has a double operating mode: PWM o Auto.

It is in fact the first article in its category that has this ambiguous functionality: the pump and fans both work dynamically. Usually, however, the pump is always at full speed and the fans adjust accordingly.

We have run tests for both, but since the mode Car proved rather useless, so we did not include them in the table.

It is in fact the only detail that is not convincing about this Celsius + S36 Dynamic: the auto mode it is silent, but it causes the pump to operate at such low speeds that temperatures are no longer as competitive as they should be.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Pre-installed fans: 3 x 120mmHub: Si
Fan mode: Dual mode (Auto/PWM)Radiator dimensions: 123 x 30 x 403 mm
Tube length: 400 mmPump speed: 800-2800 RPM (3500RPM thermal protection only)
AMD Sockets: AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, AM4, FM1, FM2, FM2+, TR4Intel Sockets: 1200, 1150, 1151, 1155, 1156, 1366, 2011, 2011-3, 2066

It is a clearly sized heatsink 360 mm which then mounts 3 fans on the radiator.

It is also laid out exactly on the radiator a HUB which is used to connect all three PWM fan PINs in a comfortable and "clean" way.

The price of this gem, however, is quite important: we are talking about an item that generally cannot be purchased for less than 160 € and sometimes it even touches i 180 €.

Fractal Design Celsius + S36 Dynamic • Test and performance

The performance of this Celsius+ 36 Dynamic they are fully positive (if we consider the PWM mode).

As for those registered with the mode Car we decided not to report them as it seems absolutely absurd that someone wants to have higher temperatures with a product that actually has a lot to offer.

Il Fractal Design Celsius+ S36 Dynamic figures as the coolest cooler, along with the SilentiumPC Navis Evo, in one stress test 10 minutes on AIDA 64 Extreme.

It has a higher temperature than the others in idle precisely because the dynamic operation of the pump keeps it at low speeds. There are therefore marginal gains on noise to the detriment of a few degrees, which certainly won't make a difference.

In full load il Celsius+ S36 it also did really well and proves superior to the Noctua NH-D15 and the Deepcool Assassin 3, which are two of the best air coolers on the market.

Nothing to say therefore about the performance side which proves to be up to par. It will clearly be possible to retouch the curve PWM from motherboard bios if you want to customize the performance ofAIO.

Fractal Design Celsius+ S36 Dynamic • Montaggio

Il mounting of this Celsius+ S36 it is particularly simple and fast.

It was one of the liquid coolers, if not the best, from the point of view of the simplicity of installation and the accuracy of the instructions.

But on the other hand we are talking about Fractal Design, little talk, just facts.

Regarding the aesthetic point of view, I cannot deny that the Celsius+ S36 is really well researched.

I am a lover of components without RGB intrusive and annoying and therefore I will clearly be biased, but this Fractal Design it is impeccable from the point of view of build quality and this therefore also makes it fascinating.

No LED therefore on 120mm fans but we have a instead illuminated on waterblock, this, not at all tacky and redundant, but elegant and accurate.

La build quality of the fans it is what one would expect from a product that costs this amount: impeccable.

THEHUB for the connection of radiator fans it does its job and allows you to easily hide the cables.

Fractal Design Celsius + S36 Dynamic • Conclusions

Fractal Design Celsius + S36 Dynamic • Dynamic AIO liquid cooler review

Mine overall judgment about the Celsius+ S36 it is fully positive from the point of view of performance, aesthetics and the quality of the components it mounts, as well as for everything else.

The only thing that puzzles me is there "Auto" mode which I find rather inconclusive and useless on most platforms.

The problems then arise when we have to consider the value for money, which clearly about this product is honest yes, but not a little over the top.

In fact, we can find some articles of the competition, of a non-dynamic model therefore a traditional one all in one liquid cooler, at much lower figures and with almost the same performances.

An example would be the Ship EVO di SilentiumPC which appears in our tests.

I consider this Celsius+ S36 a great product, with impeccable quality, but a price that makes it a difficult choice.
