It goes without saying that this article will have spoilers. It's written in response to a question posed by people, but I'm still going to drop one more spoiler warning. Why? Because it's polite, and we're talking about a game that people have been looking forward to for a long time and want to play at their own pace.

Gears of War 5: Carmine Die? (SPOILERS)
Look, Redridge might have ten dollars in Gears of War, but that's no reason to assume their family business appears to be embroiled in brutal and devastating wars. What is amazing is that there are so many of them because the Carmines are NOT a lucky group. Anthony Carmine died at the House of Sovereigns while trying to get his launcher to work. Benjamin Carmine died in the Rift worm, so definitely not the best way to go. But let's talk about the characters in Gears 5 who try to carry on half of the Carmine family legacy and avoid the other half.
Lizzie
Sadly, Lizzie dies in Gears of War 5. JD Fenix and his team find themselves stranded on the wrong side of Settlement 2, with no apparent way to get to the location of the evacuation. Lizzie comes to the rescue in her truck, but a crowd of Locusts show up. JD convinces Baird to fire the Hammer of Dawn, using his own suit to follow the weapon. JD then launches into the play, eliminating the locust. Everything seems to be going for the best until the Hammer of Dawn starts to act as it should, shoots at random and ends up pulling out Lizzie's truck while JD tries to help her.
Lizzie dies and JD has been in a coma for months. JD had been presented as reckless, often not thinking of his own safety and that of others, and the loss of Lizzie affected him deeply.
Clayton
Clayton is the one who manages to make it to the end of the game, but I won't go into specific details on that. After all, you were curious how he could die, not how he could live.
