Google: more engaging mobile search with new 'rich cards'

    Over time, the Google search engine interface has evolved to adapt to more and more usage scenarios!

    Focusing for a moment on the browsing experience from a small display (mostly a smartphone), we saw the SERP (which, for the uninitiated, is nothing more than the search results page) go from a list of results us title and short description to a series of "cards" containing, in addition to the text, also an explanatory image, so as to give the user an immediate visual impact - and time-saving.

    Starting today Google has launched a new card format even more rich and visually attractive than the previous one: they are called "Rich Cards”And, as you can see from the example below, they are the evolution of the classic e cards they enclose the results in tabs categorized - between which you can navigate by swiping left and right, a bit like what happens with AMP pages - for an even more immediate impact.

    To make Google display pages in rich card format, you need to follow some best practices, present in the blog dedicated to webmasters. At the moment the rich cards are only available for the "Film" and "Recipes" category and exclusively on the English pages of the global search engine. It is very likely that this type of results will appear in the very near future for other categories and in other languages ​​as well.
