How are unknown sources activated on Android?

As much as Google insists on recommending do not install applications from sources outside Google Play, sometimes it is practically impossible not to resort to alternative stores to the Play Store to download applications not available in our country, or to enjoy the news of that update which, after a long time, is not yet available through the official store.

Even so, for different versions of the operating system, Google has slightly complicated the process installation of applications from unknown sources for security reasons. So much so that, in fact, today this option is no longer available as such, but to be able to install apps from sources outside the store itself, you need to use a different option.

As I said, the unknown origins option is no longer present in Android. From Android 8 Oreo, however, you need to enable app download from external sources for each application installed on the device. To do this, you just need to follow these steps:

1. Open the system settings app on your mobile and go to the "Applications and notifications" section
2. Tap "see all applications" and find the one from which you want to download and install application APK files, such as the browser app.
3. Look for the option "Install unknown applications" and activate it

This way, every time you use the application you followed the previous procedure for download an APK file and try to install it, you will be able to do this without any problem as the system has granted you permission to install applications. In case you want to revoke this permission, you just have to do the same process in reverse, ie by deactivating the option "install unknown applications" in the application settings section.
