You have the chance to grab a terrific new item coming to Pokémon Go called Elite Charged and Elite Fast TMs. They work the same as the regular TM Charged and Fast that you may have earned as a reward through special quests and research tasks, but these work slightly differently.
An Elite Charged and FastTM lets you choose which new move your Pokémon learns. Typically, the traditional item would cause your Pokémon to forget its fast or charged move, and then it would randomly learn a new one. Sure, that was great to use if your Pokemon had a terrible blow, but sometimes they have the potential to learn a particular move that can turn them into a powerhouse. The elite version of these items guarantees that you no longer have the option to leave this to chance.
At the moment, there is only one way to receive these items, and that is by participating in the first season of the Pokémon Go Battle League. Previously, the Battle League was in preseason, you allowing other coaches to test their teams in the Great, Ultra and Master leagues. To receive Elite Charged and FastTM, you must reach rank seven or higher before league time runs out in the first season.
Each of the leagues is two weeks long, so you have plenty of time to progress to this point. The top five ranks only require you to participate in league matches, but to go from six to eight you have to win matches. If you want to reach rank 8-10, you still need to win matches, but you want to make sure you don't lose because you could potentially move down the leaderboard if you lose enough.
The new items are a great way for players to optimize their best Pokémon IV, even if they don't have the best moves. We can expect to hear more details on future events on how to get these two items, but for now, get ready to fight in the first season of the Great, Ultra, and Master leagues.
