How to get scars in Sea of Thieves

How to get scars in Sea of Thieves

Scars are a cosmetic item available to all pirate characters in Sea of Thieves. They only provide an aesthetic appearance and do not alter the gameplay in any way. Earning them is a bit trickier than just buying them from the Vanity Chest and putting them on as if they were new weapon skins or new outfits. Once you've completed the Commendation, you can get the Vanity Chest item, and it should be available to you at no cost. Unfortunately, two of the three scars were available during limited-time events. Unless they're available to players again, you have to wait for a similar event to unleash again.

There are three scars in Sea of Thieves, and you can unlock them by having access to their associated outfit set.

    • Bone Crusher Scars: The Bone Crusher outfit set was only available during the Cursed Sails update, which took place in August 2018. You had to complete all three battles released at the time of the content update .
    • Scars of Abandoned Ash: You must complete the Master Devil Voyager commendation, which is still available. To do this, you must complete all the congratulations of the devil Voyager, which include:
      • Earn the Golden Devil's Voyager Commendation by completing the Devil's Rock Voyage 5 times for the Gold Hoarders
      • Earn the Mystic Devil's Voyager Commendation by completing the Devil Roar's Journey 5 times for the Order of Souls
    • Shark Bitemark Scars: You could earn these scars during The Hungering Deep event, which happened from May 28 to June 13, 2018. You had to defeat The Hungering One, then talk to Merrick.

While these are the only scars available so far, more should be available in the future after additional updates. The Scars of the Abandoned Ashes are the only ones that players can earn at any time in their spare time.
