It might be hard to decide Rocket Arena which character is the craziest, but Rev is a no-brainer for the coolest. Or at least the one with the sickest ride if you count his breakboard as a mode of vehicular transport.
Technically, she's the only character to have something like this, but beyond the style she brings to the Crater, she's also a great offensive player when used correctly.
Make the most of Rev's strengths
Rev's hoverboard allows him to cross the map quickly. She moves faster and jumps higher than the other characters. Regardless of the game mode, this increased maneuverability can always be played to the advantage of your team as positioning is very important. These aren't giant arenas here in Rocket Arena and small teams mean you want to know where your opponents are, and be able to get around them and in a good position easily. Rev is exceptionally good at it and she is also equipped with heavy artillery and abilities.
- Double Whammy
- The main rocket of Rev. This pistol has sixteen shots and while it's a useful weapon (and you'll always want to shoot point blank) it's slow to start and not the most effective at finishing off your opponents. Rather, it's good for racking up damage while the rest of your team converges or while your other abilities cool down. The gun "spins" upwards and shoots faster if you hold the primary attack, so be sure to do that instead of firing individual bullets.
- Shatter Slam
- Special ability of Rev. Activating Shatter Slam will give Rev a three second speed boost. While that doesn't sound like much, it can get you out of a risky situation, save you from being knocked out of the arena, or let you hit someone with a Big Hit.
- To hit someone with a big blow, you will have to press the main attack button while boosting near an opponent. This will use your board to hit them hard and is especially useful when loading into a crowd.
- Getting a Big Hit is what you should always aim for with your Shatter Slam. Keep in mind, however, not to wire the movement too much. If you're heading straight for an opponent with the speed boost, there's a good chance they'll be able to anticipate the attack. Accompany your opponents or grab them from behind to get the most out of this excellent maneuver.
- Likes mines
- Secondary ability of Rev. These sticky mines will activate and explode when an opponent gets in close. You can stick an opponent directly with a mine and a moment later they will explode. You should use your mag mines whenever you can, as they are a bit more efficient than Rev's Double Whammy and only have about five seconds of cool down.
Strategies for Knockout / RocketBot Attack
Knockout is Rocket Arena's deathmatch and so it's pretty straightforward to see where Rev performs best in this game mode. Get out there and hit your opponents as hard as you can. When possible, flank your opponent and try to land a Big Hit with your Shatter Slam. Use your mag mines everywhere and never stop moving.
Strategies for Rocketball
It's a little harder to get the most out of Rev in Rocketball matches. She's fast so if you can reach for the ball that's great, but it's also worth taking a step back and using her as a striker to take down opponents and get the ball back whenever the other team grabs it. Rev can't use Shatter Slam to boost her speed when she has the ball, so be sure to use her wisely.
Strategies for Mega Rocket
The Mega Rocket is your standard king of hill mode. You can't really take advantage of all of Rev's strength in this mode, because getting points means standing still and the maps aren't so big that it's hard to get to the next area. However, as opponents tend to cluster in this mode, magical mines and burst snap can be used to knock opponents out.
Treasure hunting strategies
Like in Rocketball, Rev will not be able to use her speed boost while holding the treasure chest. It is, however, extremely useful during the phase of the match when you need to collect coins. His speed and agility work wonders.
Overall, Rev can be a difficult character to get the most out of, but her sheen is quite soft and makes her a quick and powerful asset to any team.
