How to progress in Forza Horizon 4 Eliminator Mode

For those of you who are fans of battle royale games, Forza Horizon 4 just dropped a heck of a mode to check out. Eliminator Mode is now available, pitting runners against each other until one remains standing, in which case they become… the Eliminator.

But what is the mode? And, more importantly, how are you going to win? We've got the tips that will help you take out the competition easily.

Getting started with Eliminator

First up, here's how Forza Horizon 4's new mode works. You join 71 other racers on the map and start in a rather basic model - the 1965 Mini Cooper - but you have ways to improve your vehicle.

As you go up against runners, the map shrinks and gets smaller and smaller. Eventually, it will come to a point where there will be only one race left, and the winner of that race will be the winner.

Upgrade, Upgrade, Upgrade

There is nothing against the Mini Cooper, because it is a neat little artist. But upgrades are all Forza Horizon 4, and there are two ways to go about it.

The first is to win races. Obviously, you will have to do it on your own, having the skills to take first place wins. But in doing so, you can improve by taking your opponent's vehicle or finding airdrops.

These are marked with smoke on a map and are available on a first come, first served basis. So if you feel the urge for a faster ride, you'll want to jump on it as quickly as possible. Who knows, you might get the car you want right away.

Even if you don't, however, there is still a chance to get it. Get close to the opponent who took the car first and beat them in a race. Once you do, their car can be yours.

Don't skip the races, go ahead

This is a mode where you will want to face your opponents head-on, instead of "camping". Go ahead and face any opponents that come your way. You could lose and be taken out of the competition, but it's worth the risk because you could also win and progress to a better car. Besides, can you really say it's fun to hide in the middle of nowhere with an inferior car?

As for winning races and getting to Air Drops first, it helps to understand the map. The shortcuts are not painful to take, so feel free to cut. Remember that your car loses some acceleration if you find yourself off-road. However, if you can navigate carefully enough, you could very well score a victory. As you travel around the map, get used to figuring out which route you want to take, then press the pedal on the metal to get there.

And here's a quick rundown of the achievements, so it's pretty easy to see what you can earn in this mode. How far can you go in a level 1 car?
