Working out when you're having fun with friends doesn't work at all, right? That's why, when you spend your time making lots of treats for your customers, it doesn't seem to work at all. In Pokémon Café Mix, you can not only place orders for some of your favorite Pokémon, but with enough time, you can recruit them to help you on your café escapades.
But in order to actually recruit the different Pokémon that come to visit the cafe for a snack, you have to complete a number of successful orders for them. Each time you place an order, the friendship meter for that Pokémon will increase, with the friendship threshold displayed on the meter.
The first Pokémon you can recruit, for example, is Charmander, which has a three point friendship bar. Maximize the three-point bar by completing three of its orders, and Pokémon will express an interest in helping with the coffee. From there, you can choose between different Pokémon as a 'boss' who can offer different power-ups for the puzzle element of the game, each one specializing in different areas of the cafe. Charmander's specialty is the drinks, which are the focus of the game earlier.
All other Pokémon can be recruited the same way with varying amounts of the friendship bar to fill, although you will need to play a number of in-game commands before they appear in your cafe and you can start to fill their orders to recruit them. There are also a few Pokémon that will appear after purchasing them. For example, the Pikachu Special Pack will add Pikachu to the game, but it's up to you.
