How to send self-destructive messages (View Once) on Whatsapp

Despite the latest "hits" this service has received, Whatsapp has never stopped receiving updates that have added many other functions over time. The speech is perhaps a little strange if we think about it: this messenger has recently been heavily criticized for its rather dubious Privacy, yet some of the latest functions have been created exactly for our safety. A good example lies in the function that allows us to send messages which are then deleted over time (self-destructive messages or as the service says, Ephemeris). So it's not really about protecting privacy against multinationals, but about doing it for our individuality.

Joking aside, it is true that these functions can be very convenient. In this way we can send messages that once received, they will go to unsubscribe automatically without leaving any trace. But there is even more: the service has decided to release a function that will allow us to launch gods messages that only need to be opened once and these will disappear - forever!

Obviously this function (defined View Eleven, or View 1) is not dedicated to text messages. You can only send images and videos which, once viewed, will be permanently deleted on both sides (even if with some effort, just write the text message in an image). It is therefore a convenient function suitable for quick sharing of photos that can be annoying to save, even if someone wants to do it without the other's knowledge.

That said… nothing really prevents the other person from taking a screenshot and saving the photo in other ways, or recording the screen! But at the end of the day, if we're sending photos or videos to a contact, we have at least a modicum of trust in him.

Now, this feature isn't exactly available to everyone. It is present since version 2.21.14.3 and has not yet been passed to all the markets in circulation. In some devices, it is only present in Beta version. In this guide, therefore, we will indicate how to install a beta version of Whatsapp so that you can start using this feature in advance. Otherwise, all you need to do is have a little patience and wait.

First, make sure the installation from unknown sources / sources is active. This function is available almost everywhere depending on your smartphone type, but what is important is to search for it through the search function of your settings. Otherwise, it is possible that it is under the developer options - which you can activate by entering the section dedicated to device info and pressing the Build Number section several times.

It must be said that activating the installation from unknown sources or sources is not always necessary, as for years now it is enough to download an APK and start the installation, passing only a few more confirmations than necessary. In the end, it will be enough to install an external program.

Once this is done, you just have to download the version Beta on Whatsapp. One of the most reliable sources to do this is APKMirror, with the program present directly from here (https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/whatsapp-inc/whatsapp/whatsapp-2-21-14-25-release/). Of course, make sure you have uninstalled your old version of Whatsapp (you can reinstall it in the Play Store once this function is finally present in the other versions).

Now that you have installed and started Whatsapp Beta, all you have to do is open any contact and start sending a photo. Once you have selected the photo that interests us, a small icon will appear near the bar where you can add a message to the image. This icon is in the shape of a circle with a "1" in the center. Once this button is pressed we will be told what role it plays, and you can therefore confirm the sending. Each time you activate this function, the symbol will light up green, just as a sign of confirmation.

When the contact receives the message, a simple “1” will appear followed by a photo or image. Pressing on the message will display the content and the message itself will disappear.

But be careful! View Once works only if the other contact also has a version with this function active or your own Beta version. So if it doesn't work, this is most likely one of the reasons.
