How to stabilize and rotate a video with Google Photos

Google Photos is probably the best photo management software on Android. Designed by the same company from Mountain View, it presents itself as an excellent tool for keeping memories and for the in-depth section dedicated to modification of parameters of each single content. Inside, however, hundreds of videos are also stored, equally customizable with the same tools. Among the many we find the one dedicated to digital stabilization of the video in post production and that inherent to the rotation of the same. So today we see how to access these two settings and change their parameters.

Unfortunately, at least for the moment, it is possible to make changes to the recorded videos only through the mobile application. The web interface of the same service is therefore excluded. In any case, the procedure to be completed turns out to be absolutely simple, intuitive and immediate.

  • Open the application "Google Photos" on smartphones or tablets, whether they are Android or iOS
  • Log in with your credentials
  • Select the video to edit
  • Click on the edit button in the lower center
  • Choose whether to stabilize or rotate the video by clicking on the dedicated buttons at the bottom

Clicking on "Stabilize", everything will start automatically. The time to complete will obviously depend on the quality and length of the movie. By choosing instead "Wheel", a 90 ° rotation will start for each click on the same button. Once the changes are complete, all you need to do is finish with "Save copy" top right. A new video (the edited one) will then appear in the gallery, but the original one will still remain.
