How to trade with other players in Death Stranding

The Center of Death Stranding The main character, Sam Porter Bridges, must travel the American dystopian landscape to deliver packages while connecting the last surviving cities. A lot happens in the game, where players have to deal with Sam's stamina and weight, while also making sure they don't run into enemies along the way. However, there are some advantages and there are ways to find help in this difficult landscape. This is where the other players come in and everyone can interact with each other. Here is how you do it.

Trading does not work as you traditionally would like it to. There is no trade window where players can see what they are giving other players, and players are not always sure what they are going to get. The way it works in Death Stranding is leaving things behind that you might not need for others, and hoping that will help them on their journey.

The mechanic to start trading doesn't unlock until episode two, shortly after players make their delivery to Waystation West in Capital Knot City. From this point on, players can take an optional order and place their mailbox northeast of the west lane. By following the steps of the mission, players will have the opportunity to craft a Portable Chiral Builder (PCC) on a terminal. The CCP is the means by which players create letterboxes, and when they place these structures, other players playing their game have a chance to meet them.

Now players don't immediately leave essential items or containers full of supplies. Instead, they have to manually climb into the mailbox and give all the supplies to Sam that they don't plan to use by giving them to Share Locker. You cannot later collect donated items from the Share Locker once they have passed, so it is crucial to only donate items that you are sure you don’t miss. After receiving a donation, another player may trip over the mailbox during their journey.

That's all we can say about it. For players looking for mailboxes in the world, they have to use their scanner by pressing the R1 button to locate them. When you find them, be sure to frantically run the PlayStation 4 controller touchpad to give it a love and thank you to the player who built it. Death Stranding is all about helping everyone on their arduous journey, and not immediately seeing results.

We have guides that help players manage their stamina bar, balance the cargo on Sam's back, find a generator for their batteries, or change the difficulty setting. Make sure to check them out.
