How to travel fast (finally) in Outward

Outward's latest DLC, The Soroboreans is a meaty expansion to an already heavy game. There is a whole new area to explore, the Antique Plateau, and many other added features. One of the most welcome ways is a way to finally travel fast.

Of course, there is something to be said for how often you will have to navigate Aurai in the base game. Outward is a decidedly unique open world in the way it refuses to position your character as any sort of great hero, chosen or not. You are just a normal person trying to get by and survive in a world filled with giant bugs, animated skeletons, ghosts, golems, and other beasts. This means that if you want to return home to the town of Cierzo you may need to take a hike. So far, that is.

Use the Soroborean caravaneer for fast travel

The new area The Soroboreans DLC, the Ancient Plateau, is not connected to Aurai-proper. To get there, you'll need to bring in cash (200 to be exact) and rations to the Sorobean Caravanners which you can now find all over the world. There is a Soroborean Caravaneer in every major city that can take you to Harmattan, the main town on the ancient board, but Soroborean Caravanners will also randomly spawn in all major regions of the game.

The Soroborian Caravans you find in the desert will allow you to pay for fast travel to any city in the game, not just Harmattan. It's not an obvious mechanism, but this workaround will allow you to quickly travel through Aurai.

Of course, you'll need to find a Sorobean Caravaneer first. They appear randomly in the game world, so it can be spotty. If you're unlucky in your immediate surroundings, reload the area by entering and then leaving any nearby dungeon (or other location) or falling asleep. If you access the pause menu, the area you are in will sometimes reload and may also spawn a Sorobean caravan.

It might take you a few tries, but it's better than hiking around the world if you're trying to get somewhere in a hurry. Also, awkwardness is sort of part of Outward's charm.
