Artifacts are a return mechanic from the original Risk of Rain title that made their way to Risk of Rain 2. They change the way you replay the game, changing some aspects of a game to make it more interesting for them. veteran players who want a more unique touch.
To activate the artifacts, you need to access the new Hidden Realm. You can do this by going to the Sky Meadow realm, below. It should be partially below the main area of the map. There are nine cycle commands to enter. The code changes depending on the artifact you want to unlock. To find the correct codes for the artifacts, you need to visit different areas in the field. They will have stone tablets with nine symbols on them. Whatever nine symbols you have, you type them into the computer downstairs to enter the New Hidden Realm.
Go through the portal and you will find an item called an Artifact Reliquary. Interact with him and several enemies appear at your location. Enemies you defeat on the spot will drop items that break the shield that the location spawns as well. Once the shield is gone, you can pick up the artifact found at the location, depending on the code you used to unlock it.
There are 16 Artifacts and their respective Stone Tablet Codes in total:
Artefact of honor
Enemies only spawn as elites.
Riddle Artifact
You appear in the game with a random piece of equipment. Every time it activates, it becomes different.
Spite artifact
When you kill an enemy, it drops several bombs.
Soul Artifact
Enemies now generate Wisps on death.
Artefact of death
As a group, if one of the players dies, everyone dies.
Revenge Artifact
An offspring of yourself (the player) enters the game every 10 minutes.
Metamorphosis Artifact
You appear in the game as a random survivor.
Dissonance Artifact
Monsters in the game have the chance to spawn outside of their usual environment.
Chaos Artifact
Players and monsters now have friendly fire.76
Fragility artefact
You now take twice as much fall damage, and it's fatal.

There is only one type of enemy per stage.
Artifact of sacrifice
Monsters will now drop equipment when they die, but there are no more chests in the game.
Artifact of evolution
Monsters will earn items as you progress through the stages.
Glass artifact
Allies now deal 500% more damage, but have 10% health.

You now choose the items you get while playing.
Swarm Artifact
Enemy spawns have doubled, but their health has been halved.
