Animal Crossing: New Horizons lets you customize your items, but that's locked behind some early-game jobs. In this article, we will tell you how to access it and how to use the feature.
How to unlock personalization
You will need to have completed the following in-game steps to unlock the customization options:
Both of the above tasks should be done for Tom Nook, so talk to him regularly while playing and he will always point you in the right direction to get the job done.
Once they're done, Tom Nook will give you a Resident Services Customization Workshop, so head over there and talk to him again.
How to personalize your items
Once the workshop is complete, you can personalize the items on a workbench using a personalization kit. Select the item you want to change and you will see all the options available for that item. The different combinations of modifications you can make will vary in cost in the Customization Kits, depending on what you choose to do.
You can get Customization Kits from Nook's Xranny for 600 Bells, and you'll get 50 free from Tom Nook when you complete the Workshop.
Make sure to experiment with each item and the options available to get the look you want, as it can be the difference between having a truly beautiful island or living in the same place as every other player.
