How to unlock reactions in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

How can I unlock them?

A villager will approach you after the 3 days and inform you about the reactions, this will unlock 4 reactions by default. The more you play, the more you will unlock. Your villagers will charge you as soon as you cross their line of sight, with a bubble above their head, which means wanting to talk to you. This doesn't automatically mean that they'll teach you a new reaction, they might just want to give you a gift, so it's always a good idea to see what they need. But occasionally they want to enlighten you on a new reaction, the reaction they decide to teach you depends on who they are and how friendly they are with you.

This is one of the main reasons you need a variety of villagers living on your island. Specifically, one of each personality type. There are 8 in total, 4 for each gender. Village women can have Normal, Dynamic, Snooty, or Uchi / Big Sisterly personalities and male villagers can have Lazy, Jock, Smug, or Cranky personalities. There are nearly 400 villagers to choose from. Not only do they teach us different reactions, but they also give out different crafts based on their personality. How exciting!

What reactions are there?

Below is a guide to the reactions you can learn from each personality type. You can unlock an additional reaction once you've reached the highest Friendship level with a Villager.
