Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity - Don't Miss the Extremely Rare Easter Egg Riding Cucco

And while cuccos don't normally appear on maps, so you can't hit them to summon swarms on your enemies, they appear in a rare little Easter egg. These scenes are so rare that I haven't seen them once in over 20 hours of reading. Fortunately, people from can show us the little Easter egg.

Rare Easter Egg Cucco Intro

As the video above shows, it is very rare that Link glide into battle on a Cucco instead of on his glider. This only seems to happen with Link, and only during the cutscene where Hyrule's hero leaves on a mission. It's a funny little Easter egg, but there are a few more.

Previously games, Link could use Cuccos as mini-gliders to jump off ledges - the chicken would flap its wings and break your fall, letting you slide slowly down. The cuccos are basically the original glider from, so it's no surprise that they serve the same function here.

Some players report seeing this on their second mission - but it's totally random, and it will only happen when Link is selected to join a mission. The other characters unfortunately don't receive special chicken-related cutscenes.

Another missed opportunity - why doesn't Link use the cucco in combat? Leave one for enemies to attack, and the cuccos will invade the battlefield, destroying everything! Maybe that would be too unfair for the forces of Calamity.
