Obsidian Entertainment's co-op action-adventure title Down to Earth miniaturizes on PC and Xbox One on July 28, though its scheduled release will be an early access game.
While not yet a full release, those intrigued by this "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids"-inspired title will want to know if cross-platform play will be possible. This feature may not be supported if Grounded is only available in Early Access. If you want to play with your friends on different platforms, you need to know the preview version.

During a PAX East live panel in February, Obsidian Entertainment was asked if cross-platform play would be enabled even though their game would only be in Early Access. In response, Obsidian revealed that cross-play will be supported "from day one," meaning you can freely play with people on other platforms starting July 28.
It makes sense that the cross-play feature will be available. To Earth is a title released at Xbox Game Studios, and will be available to try on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, albeit through the Xbox Game Preview program. Given that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is available for PC and Xbox One, it would have been puzzling for Microsoft to make cross-play unavailable for Grounded even at this early stage.
Since Down to Earth is an early access title, there could be some issues with cross-play as Obsidian tests their server capacity. If this happens, don't worry. Initial problems will arise as the Land bugs progress, so keep that in mind in case cross-play with your friends breaks down.
