Is Crysis Remastered coming to PS5?

Crysis Remastered is on the way. While the game hasn't been officially announced - at least as of this writing - it's almost confirmed after it's leaked and released ahead of schedule.

Thanks to this information leak, we know that Crysis Remastered will arrive on PlayStation 4 on July 23. With Sony's next-gen console, the PlayStation 5, set to launch Holiday 2020, some of you might be wondering if Crysis Remastered will benefit from the PS5 treatment as well. Let's see if there is any truth to this speculation.

Will the PS5 receive a Crysis Remastered port?

Right now the answer is no. Unless the game's developer - Crytek - makes a shocking announcement as part of the July 1 Unveiling, you shouldn't expect Crysis Remastered to hit the PS5 anytime soon.

While this may be disappointing news for some, there is no confirmation that it will ever see the light of day on PS5. In an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine - quotes retrieved by Sirus Gaming - Crytek manager Steffen Halbig declined to comment on a potential Crysis Remastered Port PS5.

When asked if a PS5 version was in development, Halbig said, “Like most other developers, we are following the PS5 closely. The future looks very bright [for PS5]. From a development perspective, we're excited to see how we can push the boundaries of new hardware and use new Sony innovations in our games. "

Halbig isn't exactly ruling it out, so there's always the possibility that Crysis Remastered could end up on PS5. Alternatively, the PS4 version could be a backward compatible title on PS5, which would allow you to play your PS4 copy on Sony's new console when it launches. For now, you will only be able to get your patch when Crysis Remastered is released on July 23.
