League of Legends: Wild Rift levels range from Iron to Challenger, which is the same as League of Legends. However, in the mobile game an additional level called Emerald has been added between Platinum and Diamond. The full list of levels is as follows:

  • The iron
  • Bronze
  • silver
  • Or
  • Platinum
  • emerald
  • diamond
  • Maître
  • Grand Master
  • Challenger

On top of that, Diamond and below levels are further subdivided into four divisions, meaning you'll need to upgrade from Iron IV to Iron I before you can upgrade to Bronze IV.

Placement games

Since everyone enters the leaderboard as unranked, when you start playing ranked matches, your first 10 matches will be placement games, which work as follows:

  • You receive a starting rank after your first placement game
  • Each victory grants 2 ranked marks
  • Losing has no penalty

Once your placement is complete, you will get your starting rank.

Emerald iron level grading system

The Iron level is the lowest, where each player will have to start to rank above. In the first six levels i.e. Emerald Iron, all wins and losses are weighted equally with Ranked Ratings, while Outstanding Performance is rewarded with Ranked Strength.

You will receive ranked ratings that will help you rank based on overall performance. Winning a game earns a mark while losing removes one except in Iron and Bronze levels. This system is followed in the first to six levels only, i.e. from iron to emerald. Also, climbing from Platinum to Emerald will take a LOT longer than jumping from Iron to Bronze, as you will need more Ranking Points to climb to higher levels.

Classified Fortitude

Win streaks in League of Legends: Wild Rift are rewarded with Ranked Strength to prevent players from losing a Ranked Mark if lost. Gaining Ranked Strength can even grant two Ranked Marks in a single win. The Classé Fortitude system is only implemented in the mobile version of the game.

Ranking system from Diamond to Challenger level

Diamond to Challenger levels follow a different ranking system and are a bit complex than lower levels, and instead of ranked marks you receive victory points. Here are the full details:

Victory points

Just like ranked marks, victory points will be distributed or withdrawn at the end of each match, depending on the result. However, the number of points you earn or lose is determined by various factors, including the overall skill level of players on both teams. Players must earn 100 victory points to climb in each division of Diamond.

The Master level and above still use victory points, but the ranking system itself changes to accommodate this highly competitive level of play. Also, unlike ranked brands, victory points will start to break down if players are inactive for too long. However, you can delay this degradation by playing multiple Ranked Matches on a daily basis.

Promotion Series

The Promotion Streak is the collection of games you play as you progress through levels but not through divisions. Promotion series work as follows:

  • From iron to bronze: 2 wins = success, 3 losses = failure
  • From silver to diamond: 3 wins = success, 3 losses = failure
  • From master to challenger: No promotion required

Passing promotions will take you to the next level with 1 ranked mark and temporary demotion protection, while failure will remove 2 ranked marks and keep you at your current level.

Classified draft

In Normal difficulty, you must select a champion before your ally; in Ranked mode, the champion will be chosen according to an S-draft format in which the champions are chosen alternately. The advantage of Ranked mode is that it gives both teams equal chances in terms of strategies before entering the Rift.

Additionally, Ranked mode currently does not have a ban due to the game's small champion pool, and players can expect to see bans in a later season when more champions are added.

In League of Legends: Wild Rift, players can line up for ranked matches with groups of one, two, three, or five. Note that while Solo, Duo, Trio, and Full Squad all have the same entry point, the teams matchmaking separately behind the scenes.

This means that full teams will always be up against other teams of five, and with mixed team sizes, the algorithm is optimized to match teams of equal power.
