Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate: Guide Deviant

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate: Guide Deviant

Finally Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate has also arrived in the West, almost two years after the Japanese release date.
This is the Ultimate version (Complete with G-Rank, expansions, monsters and weapons) of MH Generations, already arrived in 2015.
New fans of the series will surely be getting used to the old controls of a classic Monster Hunter, while die-hards will surely be excited for the richest MH ever.
We have prepared for you a series of guides to help you in the hunt, and I will show you all the peculiarities in this deviant guide.

Deviant

Deviant monsters are a special feature added right in the first chapter, Generations.
These are alternative versions of the monsters.
But is that all? Absolutely not.
Unlike the classic subspecies of monsters we know (Pink Rathian, Silver Rathalos, Brutal Tigrex) deviants are mutated, enhanced versions.
Deviants are monsters who have had to adapt to the most hostile conditions they could face, evolving and becoming true kings of the ecosystem.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate: Guide Deviant
The very aggressive Tigrex Furor provides my favorite armor among deviants. His hunt is truly fearsome.

They learn new moves and attacks, which can take hunters by surprise.
Some gain resistance to elements to which they were previously weak, or entirely change the status and elemental damage inflicted.
Their hunts are extremely difficult and offer an enormous degree of challenge to ambitious newcomers and wise veterans.

Obviously these monsters unlock whole new sets of armor and weapons that work differently than the others.
Let's see how.

Deviant Guide: The Skills

Deviant abilities are extremely powerful abilities present in the armor of the monsters themselves.
As you know, (and if you don't know, take a look at our skill guide) abilities are activated by reaching a total of 10 points in the armor.
Deviant sets will provide you with the monster's special deviant ability, which contains two, three, or even four additional abilities Beyond those already in the normal monster's armor.
So where's the challenge? Activate them.

The Stonefist Hermitaur armor is one of the best, in my opinion.

Deviant armor won't have the specific deviant ability active until you reach at least +6 upgrade level on each piece.
And it is here that the resistance and tenacity of hunters in the hunt for prey is assessed, at exaggerated levels of difficulty.

Hunting

Okay, but how do the deviant hunts work?
Like the other hunts you can go on missions alone or in company, up to a maximum of 4.
The tickets to start the mission cost a lot and are limited, so it's better to organize with other hunters to "offer" the joke in turn.

The missions will be more and more difficult as you level up, with different requirements increasingly complicated, such as "fighter 2 deviant", "capture the monster", "limited time", etc..
Leaving aside that I have already told you how difficult these hunts are, at level 1 each completed hunt will give you two good deviants.
With each of these level 1 vouchers you can buy a piece of armor, so to forge armor and weapon you'll have to complete the hunt at level 1 three times, getting 6 vouchers (five for the armor pieces and one for the weapon).

Once you've done this, you'll need to move up to level two, complete three more hunts to get 6 good ones and upgrade your armor and weapon to level two.
And so on, up to level six, where the deviant ability is activated.
Obviously like all other armor is upgradeable up to level 10, but you'll need to be ready for anything in completing this feat.

Deviant Monsters

As Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is the chapter with the highest number of monsters ever, the variety of the fearsome deviants is also huge.
Flags of this chapter are the Diablos Bloodbath (a name, a warranty) and the deviant versions of Astalos, Mizutsune and Gammoth, flags of the previous chapter Monster Hunter Generations.
In total there will be these monsters:

Redhelm Arzuros
Stonefist Hermitaur
Hellblade Glavenus
Snowbaron Lagombi

Silverwind Nargacuga
Dreadking Rathalos
Dreadqueen Rathian
Drilltusk Tetsucabra

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate: Guide Deviant
Boltreaver Astalos

Elderfrost Gammoth

In conclusion

As always, and especially in this chapter you'll have to choose the skills that best suit your fighting style.
The deviants will give you a high degree of challenge and an excellent material for farming endgame rewarding you with extremely powerful armor.
Get ready to sweat for them.

Good hunting, hunters!
