There are also Mega and Shadow Pokémon that often serve as better counters, but most players don't have them with the right moveset or don't want to use Mega Energy.
If you removed Shadow Pokémon with Frustration, you'll want to use Shadow Raikou with Thunder Shock and Wild Charge, Shadow Magnezone with Spark and Wild Charge, Shadow Electivire with Thunder Shock and Wild Charge, or Shadow Zapdos with Thunder Shock and Thunderbolt. When the Kyogre raids begin and end in January 2021
Kyogre (and Groudon) will appear in raids starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19 and will disappear on Tuesday, January 26 at 10 a.m. All times are local, so once your clock hits 10, you should start to see them appear.
How many players are needed
Two extremely powerful trainers can take out Kyogre on their own as long as he doesn't have Blizzard, which will erase the powerful Grass-type counters seen above. For most players, you'll want to tackle Kyogre with a party of four or more, although the weather can change that number. The more you have, the easier the battle, so try playing with very powerful pawns or a larger group of more than five players.
What climate stimulates
Depending on his set of moves, Kyogre is boosted in different ways. It's a Water-type Pokémon, so rain will increase its CP as shown below. For his movements, the rain will add power to his water and electricity attacks, but will also help your electric type meters. Likewise, if it's sunny or clear, grass type markers will do more damage. However, if Kyogre has Blizzard, watch out for snowy weather which will make the fight more difficult, especially for those same Grass counters.

A perfect Kyogre IV will be caught with 2351 CP if it is not boosted by the weather. If it's rainy, the CP will drop to 2939 CP for a perfect Kyogre in January 2021.
How to get a Shiny Kyogre
Of course, fighting and catching Kyogre is the point, but there is an additional objective for brilliant hunters. Shiny Kyogre is a great prize that not many trainers have added to their collection. Unfortunately, there are no signs of improving Kyogre's chances of returning in January 2021. So the only advice we have is to defeat as many as possible in the week available. If you beat 20 Kyogre, the odds are that you should see a Shiny Kyogre in the peloton. Of course, random numbers do what they do and you might have to fight dozens.
