The Go Rocket team once again doesn't stand a chance Pokemon GO. The new Team GO rocket leaders have arrived and we also need to complete the special Looming in the Shadows research! In this guide, we'll go through the different stages of research and what you need to do to get your rewards.
Part of this research revolves around the Rocket Radar that Professor Willow worked on. But first you will have to build it. Fortunately, this is one of the research tasks. So follow the steps below and you'll be on your way to showing Team GO Rocket what the real best Pokemon trainers are.
Pokemon GO - Shadow Research Guide
Step 1
- Spin 10 Pokestops (500 XP)
- Defeat 3 Go Team Rocket Grunts (500 XP)
- Catch 1 Shadow Pokemon (500 XP)
Récompenses – 500 Stardust, 10 Poke Balls, 10 Razz Berries
Step 2
- Spin a Pokestop 5 days in a row (750 XP)
- Purify 15 Shadow Pokemon (750 XP)
- Win 5 Raids (750 XP)
Rewards - 1000 Stardust, 3 Hyper Potions, 3 Revives
Step 3
- Build a rocket radar by combining six mysterious components. These can be obtained by defeating Team Rocket Grunts.

Step 4
- Use the rocket radar to find the leaders of the rocket teams and catch their Shadow Pokémon.

Step 5
- Use rocket radar to find Giovanni and save a Legendary Shadow Pokémon.

We will update this guide as more information on the different stages and rewards becomes available. There seems to be a long time to complete this one, so don't be frustrated if you can't immediately get lost in finding Looming in the Shadows.
