Pokémon Masters microtransactions explained

    Pokémon Masters microtransactions explained

Pokémon Masters is a fairly straightforward mobile title when it comes to in-game microtransactions, but there are a few key points that might confuse some players.

There are three currencies in Pokémon Masters, but the main one you'll be using are gems. Gemstones represent two different types of currency, one being Gems (unpaid) and the other being Gems (paid) - and this distinction is key when trying to get more pairs in sync.

As the main currency of the game, Gems can be easily collected by completing story chapters and missions in the Pokémon Masters campaign. But you can also buy gems through a separate menu when you go to draw sync pairs. This is all done with real money and can be viewed as soon as the story tutorial missions are completed.

There are typical bundles that are always available for the same price, but like most mobile games there is almost always a bundle on sale that will give players more bang for their buck.

    • 100 saves $ 0,99
    • 1500 saves $ 12,99
    • 400 saves $ 3,99
    • 3400 saves $ 29,99
    • 5200 saves $ 44,99
    • 9800 gemstones $ 79,99

There is no limit to the number of Gems you can buy in the game, but Pokémon Masters does not allow you to set notifications if you want to be notified before spending too much on purchased Gems.

The important distinction between paid and unpaid gems appears when using the Sync Pair Scout feature to get new characters that you can fight with. Lots of characters can be gathered by simply completing Story Missions, but this is another way to get more pairs and fuel the ones you already have.

It takes 300 gems to scout, or you can swap 3 units at a time to scout 000 pairs at a time. Some banners allow players to turn those 10 gems into a pair of 3 pairs while guaranteeing at least a five-star coach. But for the classic banner, there is a third option that offers users who have paid Gems a discount.

There is a "daily rebate" which uses only paid gems, which results in a normal scout for only 100 gems. Paid gems can also be used for normal pull-ups with no limit however. In either case, once a player performs a Scout, they will receive three Scout Points. Once that total hits 400, players will be able to select a pair of Scouts of their choice from a banner and instantly receive them in exchange for their Scrub Points.
