How to find Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX

Much like in traditional Pokemon games like Sword and Shield, shiny Pokemon are encountered completely by chance. Unfortunately, proven brilliant hunting methods like the Masuda Method just don't work in Rescue Team DX due to the totally different mechanics of normal Pokemon games. This means that you will just need to be lucky to find a Shiny Pokemon, but Pokemon can be found in greater numbers in Rescue Team DX, which should make it easier to find Shiny ones.

What makes it even harder to find a shiny in Rescue Team DX is the fact that only 27 Pokémon in the game have shiny shapes. Only the following Pokémon can be encountered in their shiny form according to Serebii:

  • Without butter
  • Feunard
  • Gallop
  • Electrode
  • Noeunoeuf
  • Noadkoko
  • Staross
  • Magicarpe
  • Leviator
  • Idem
  • Dracolosse
  • Hoothoot
  • Noarfang
  • Pharamp
  • Azumarill
  • Simularbre
  • Capumain
  • Mental
  • Qulbutoké
  • Caratroc
  • Corayon
  • Spinda
  • Altana
  • Mangriff
  • Metagross
  • Capidextre
  • Coudlangue

Unfortunately, none of the Starter Pokémon or Legendary Pokémon seem to have brilliant variations in Rescue Team DX. Still, shinies are an exciting new addition to the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon franchise, and dedicated players will no doubt spend hours and hours trying to get rare color variations of their favorite Pokemon.
