The Team Sonic Racing video game has just been released for PS4, PC, Xbox One and Switch and the web is already thrilled. Since the Sonic the Hedgehog trailer received too negative a reception, no one really knew how the game's unveiling would go. The official release date for Team Sonic Racing was May 21, 2019, and that's what we have to say at the start of the game.
Team Sonic Racing is saving the day after the Sonic the Hedgehog trailer dropped a month ago. Developed by Sumo Digital, Team Sonic Racing is of course a kart racing video game. It's a part of Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog franchise universe and it's a true spin-off. Sega is only handling the publishing part of the job this time around, and as previously mentioned, the game is transferred to PC, two consoles (PS4 and Xbox One), and a portable device (Nintendo Switch).
Sumo Digital was already part of the Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing production, in 2010, as well as the transformed Sonic All-Stars Racing in 2012. Two pretty decent racing titles, the time had come for a go-kart racer from pair the very successful Mario Kart. Now, unlike those previous two racers, Sonic Team Racing exclusively features Sonic characters. This edition uses a modified engine from the previous two titles, with Sumo Digital wanting the game to stand out from its competition.
gameplay
Team Sonic Racing offers single and multiplayer game modes. on the concept Sonic Heroes 2003. The player is offered fifteen characters to choose from, all exclusively from the Sonic universe, and participates in races inspired by different themes of the franchise.
The karts come in three classes: technique, speed and power. Each kart has its own abilities, advantages and disadvantages, such as the technique class. The Tails kart has the ability to drive through grass or other surfaces without slowing down.
The racing tracks are inspired by the Sonic theme and represent a throwback for the entire franchise. They are, of course, filled with various obstacles and opportunities, like drifts and bonuses. The game offers a third person view.
Appearence
The Sonic Racing team is amazing. The game features the advanced capabilities of the latest gaming technology and pushes the limits of consoles to the max. In particular, the game made the most of the capabilities of Nintendo's Switch console, as it looks like a game and is really cool, especially when using the multiplayer mode. Team Sonic Racing has received mixed reviews across the web, which is too early to make sense. The game has a fun and enthusiastic touch, with inspiring ideas that make it a unique kart racer. Looks good and it's fun to play with, in single player story mode or multiplayer mode. Team Sonic Racing deserves a try and it definitely has to become an instant classic, at least with Sonic fans.
