The Division 2 – Season Pass / Battle Pass Leveling Guide for Warlords of New York

The Season Pass / Battle Pass is upgraded by gaining experience from any activity and seasonal objectives.

Agents that have been around since The Division 2 launched probably remember gaining experience through activities long after hitting level 30. While this holds true with the added SHD levels, it was feared that The Season Pass / Battle Pass arriving in the game uses a separate system. Fortunately, this is not the case. However, be warned, only those who have purchased Warlords of New York and reached level 40 will have access to the pass.

Upgrading your Season Pass / Battle Pass works the same way as earning SHD levels - play the game and earn experience. Light Zone activities, checkpoints, missions, projects: all of these and many more rewards at the end can be used to level up the Season Pass / Battle Pass. Naturally, the harder the challenge, the bigger the loot, so speeding things up manually or with the new overall difficulty setting will see a modest increase in experience gained.

That said, the experience gain by changing the difficulty is relatively slim, as Massive has a second system woven into the fabric of The Division 2 that was designed with experience reinforcement in mind: guidelines. Directives are modifiers for modifying the game that make The Division 2 more difficult, aside from the flat scale of damage, armor, and resistance that enemies receive by increasing difficulty with traditional options.

A full list and breakdown of the guidelines can be found in our guide here, but to summarize in this article: each will provide a 25% increase in experience gained from all sources while active, for a full boost. 125% if all five are activated. Because the Season Pass / Battle Pass is level with experience, guidelines can be used to speed up your progress faster. Note that your SHD level and your season level are divorced, although all experience gained will carry over into both.

There will also be Seasonal Objectives and Challenges Agents can complete for a direct portion of the Season Pass / Battle Pass experience, which focuses primarily on the Seasonal Manhunt. Once the world events and leagues live, they will also provide experience, but the objectives of the seasonal manhunt will provide the greatest source of extracurricular experience.

Bottom Line: Play the game, use guidelines to increase your experience earned, and complete Seasonal Manhunt objectives for a massive injection of Season Pass / Battle Pass experience. As an added bonus, the first premium track for the Season Pass / Battle Pass is free for anyone who has purchased Warlords of New York, and the first week of the season will double the experience for everything (this also works for your SHD levels).
