The iPad Pro's selfie camera with M1 can automatically pan and zoom to keep you in the frame

The new iPad Pro with M1 has significantly improved performance thanks to the new system-on-chip and an improved camera system with TrueDepth which enables a new mode called "Center Framing".

The new 11-inch and 12,9-inch iPad Pro have a 12MP ultra wide-angle front camera with a 122 ° field of view, while the previous iPad Pro version had a 7MP front camera.

The new TrueDepth camera system enables new features in ‌iPad Pro‌, including a Portrait mode with the ability to adjust blur and depth control, and vertical lighting effects, such as Natural Light, Studio Light, Contour Light, Phase Bright, Mono Phase, and Mono High Key Light.

The ultra wide-angle camera enables a new feature that Apple calls "Center Framing". Thanks to the wide viewing angle of TrueDepth cameras, the iPad Pro‌ can now use machine learning to detect people in the frame and pan and zoom to ensure that people in the scene are always visible. As Apple explains:

The new Center Framing uses the Ultra Wide camera and machine learning to change the way you participate in video calls. As you move, it automatically scrolls the frame to keep you centered on the scene. As others move in or out of the frame, the field of view widens or gets closer. Centered Framing works with FaceTime and other video conferencing apps for an even richer experience.

The new iPad Pro was one of the announcements at Apple's "Spring Loaded" event.
