UK operator EE launches Apple's first service bundle

British operator EE has launched a new package called »Full Works» for iPhone, which includes a subscription to Apple Music, Apple TV + and Apple Arcade. It is the first operator to combine multiple Apple subscription services into one package.

As a result of this collaboration with Apple, the package includes subscriptions to services such as Apple Music‌, Apple TV‌ + and ‌Apple Arcade‌, as well as unlimited conversations, messages and data, and an upgrade to a new iPhone when new models are released. Conversely, neither Apple News + nor iCloud storage are included, and the ‌Apple Music‌ family plan is not currently available.

EE is the largest operator in the UK and a major player in the implementation of fifth generation (5G) technologies.

Unlike what usually happens, where the packages offered by the operators are more expensive than if purchased elsewhere, in this case the EE offer means savings in subscription services. The Full Works package includes an iPhone 11 Pro with unlimited conversations, data and messages, plus Apple Music‌, ‌Apple TV‌ + and ‌Apple Arcade‌ for £ 77 per month. Without Apple's subscription services, the same plan costs £ 68 per month, proving that the service package is priced at £ 9. If the same services are contracted individually with Apple, the cost would be £ 19,97.

The plan is available with more iPhone models‌ and will certainly extend to the upcoming iPhone 12 as well, as the plan is ready to adopt 5G. From September it will also be available for companies.

The exclusion of Apple News (very limited in scope, only available in English-speaking countries) and the iCloud storage service raises a few questions, such as whether it is a service that Apple reserves to differentiate its bundled offerings from the ones it offers., or if you really intend to completely shut down the iCloud service of the package system.

On the other hand, the package price is also substantial, since Apple is unlikely to offer a set of services at a higher price than other companies (such as EE). Even if you are tied to the purchase of an Apple product (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV) or the rental service (which automatically replaces the device when a new model comes out), 9 pounds (around 10 €) can be a bomb exploding in terms of number of subscribers.

To find out what these plans are from Apple (or even if they extend to other countries), we will have to wait for the launch event of the new models of the iPad (rumored to be in September) and iPhone (rumored to be in October).
