Your fists may be enough to take out the first boars and critters, but you will soon realize that a hunter needs tools to hunt. Especially when it comes to enemies that are much bigger and harder to hit. Arcs in particular, are an exceptional choice for such a task, so it is vital to create one early.
Making a Finewood bow early is difficult, but possible.
At first, bow type weapons like the raw bow will be available to you, but it's no secret that specific bow and the like are not good. As easy as that. However, the Fine wooden arch is actually a great tool for hunting and dealing damage to your enemies. Not only that, but it also has a great pulling speed which makes it very easy to use.
That said, the specific item does need a bit of farming first to build it, so it's not available right away. There is a way to do this, however, which I will now highlight below. First, find a Troll! Any troll could do, but it is highly advisable to look for one that wields a club, whether it's a huge wooden stick or something else. Then try to find a place with a lot of Precious wood trees. I believe you already understand where I'm going with this one.
Taunt the troll to attack you and make sure you are near these trees when its attack animation takes place. Then stand in a place where his attack will land on that tree as well. Avoid at the last second so you don't get killed, and the result would be piles of piles of wood lying around. You may have to repeat the process to get the tree to be completely destroyed, so just do it over and over again, on multiple trees as well, and you have it. Huge amounts of Fine wood, with hardly any effort, very early in the game. Enjoy your new Fine wooden arch, and continue your hunts with it.
