    Valheim: How to summon all bosses in the game (so far) | Key Elements Guide

    There are currently five bosses in, and there's a reason you want to fight them. Bosses carry important key items that allow you to progress in the game - the first boss gives you access to very important pickaxes, the second boss helps you unlock junk, and the third boss tells you the money.

    First boss: Eikthyr

    • Biome: Meadows
    • Weakness: N / A | Wooden shield + flint spear

    To summon Eikthyr, you must find a mystical altar in the Meadow Biome. Interact with the shiny Sacrificial stones where you spawn to automatically mark the closest mystical altar location.

    Sacrifice x2 deer trophies at the mystical altar to invoke Eikthyr. Deer trophies are a rare random drop of deer - so you just need to hunt them until you have enough. You can re-summon Eikthyr an infinite number of times.

    • Rewards: Eikthyr falls x3 hardwood which unlocks the Wooden pickaxe for the extraction of ore and hardwood.
      • Eikthyr also drops the Eikthyr Trophy. Bring it back to the spawning stone to unlock the Eikthyr's Forsaken Power. This power causes you to lose less stamina when sprinting or swimming.

    Second Boss: Former

    • Biome: Black Forest
    • Weakness: N / A |

    The ancient tree-like massif appears in the Black Forest. To find his altar, look for the dungeons of abandoned houses and burial chambers Runestone. Interacting with the runestone will reveal the closest Monument of the ancients.



    To summon the elder, sacrifice x3 ancient seeds. Old seeds are rare drops of Greydwarf enemies, and are guaranteed to fall after smashing Gray dwarf spawners.

    • Rewards: The Elder drops the Swamp Key once defeated. This key grants you access to the Sunken Crypts in the Swamp Biome.
      • You will also get the Elder Trophy. Hang it on the spawn stones to unlock the Abandoned power of the old - you will be able to cut trees much faster once activated.

    Third boss: Bonemass

    • Biome: Swamp
    • Weakness: Blunt | Iron masses

    The terrifying Bonemass appears in the Swamp Biome. To summon it, you will need to find a Bone altar. Look for the Sunken Crypts (with the Swamp Key acquired from the Elder Boss) to find a Runestone which will reveal the location of the bone altar.

    To summon the Bonemass, sacrifice x10 the flétris. These are drops of Muddy scrap piles in Sunken Crypts. Clear out any muddy piles of junk you find to stock up.

    • Reward: The Bonemass drops the Wishbone - a special accessory that reveals underground secrets. Its most important use is to locate silver ore deposits underground in the Mountain Biome.
      • Like all other bosses, the Bonemass drops the Bonemass Trophy. Return it to the Sacrificial Stones to get the Abandoned power of Bonemass which grants resistance to all forms of damage.

    Fourth boss: Moder



    • Biome: Mountains
    • Weakness: N / A

    The flying moder wyvern must be summoned from the Ritual site Mountains biome. To summon it, you will need to acquire x3 dragon eggs - the ritual site has three bowls. Place a dragon egg in each bowl to complete the sacrifice.


    Dragon eggs are incredibly heavy objects found in nests. Each egg weighs 200 - you will therefore have to make several trips to summon Moder or work with several players. The nests are located on high peaks where Drakes roam.

    To carry more weight, find the trader Black Forest biome. Buy it Megingjord accessory à increase your transport weight from 300 to 450.

    • Reward: Moder let go Dragon tear - an ingredient needed to craft the Craft Table, which grants you access to the highest quality crafting in the game.
      • Moder also removes the Moder Trophy. Return it to spawn to gain an ability that always ensures that the wind is at your back when traveling by boat.

    Fifth boss: Yagluth


    • Biome: Plains
    • Weakness: N / A

    A massive skeleton that crawls through his upper body, the gigantic boss is devastating but currently of no use in the game. Like all other bosses, he must be summoned. Locate the Site of Stonehenge - you can find Runic stones in Fuling Villages that show you the way.

    To summon Yagluth, you must place x5 Fuling Totems on the Stonehenge site. These objects are a rare drop of Fuling Berserkers, which are more likely to spawn in villages or outposts of Fuling.

    • Reward: Yagluth isn't dropping a key point as of this writing.
      • He drops a Yagluth Trophy, that unlock a Forsaken ability that grants resistance to all elements - poison, fire, and ice.
