We Happy Few - Tips and Strategies for Fighting

While most scenarios We Happy Few can be tackled non-violently, sometimes conflict is inevitable. Below you can find a number of combat tips that may help you emerge victorious from an angular situation that requires a certain amount of violence.

Guide We Happy Few : Fighting tips

Create a Distraction

If you hope to survive in We Happy Few , the best solution is to avoid conflict at all costs. This will require the use of some stealthy tactics to avoid drawing attention in your direction. When enemies are in your way and you don't want them to notice your presence, you'll need to find a way to distract them long enough to sneak away.

The easiest way to do this is to throw objects, like stones or bottles, to lure them away from where you intend to go. Throwable items can be found all over the world and are usually cumulative, so you can throw them one after the other.

Equip a Durable Weapon

In case things go wrong and you suddenly find yourself involved in a fight, we recommend that you have a weapon at hand. Since it can take a few seconds to get into your inventory to equip a weapon, you don't have to wait until you're already in the middle of the action to solve the problem. Weapons can be found all over the world or created on a workbench or in your Creation menu, depending on the projects you have found.

There are two main types of weapons in We Happy Few : lethal and non-lethal. While enemies can be defeated by both types of weapons, the first type will only leave them unconscious. Weapons also tend to run out of stamina faster than unarmed combat, so make sure you maintain your stamina levels to improve your combat skills.

Equip yourself with a durable weapon and don't wield it without criteria. Push and lock.

It is important to note that each weapon has a level of durability. Over time, weapons will lose their effectiveness and eventually break down. There doesn't seem to be a way to repair weapons in We Happy Few , so try to equip weapons with the longest durability to make sure they don't break in mid-combat.

Weapons can also have various status and bonus effects, such as electrical or fire damage. Weapons with status effects should take priority over normal weapons to maximize your damage during combat.

Hide your weapon when you're not in combat.

Once equipped with a weapon, you can select the holster for the weapon to pull it out and refill it, which you must always keep in mind. Don't walk around with your weapon in plain sight in front of everyone, as it can alert nearby citizens and scare them or make them become hostile. Only draw your weapon during a fight.

Remember to push and lock

Fighting in We Happy Few requires a mastery of hand-to-hand combat tactics. You'll also have to rely on the thrust to get through it. Wielding a weapon without trying to take advantage of your opponent is useless. Try to make a habit of pushing your enemies into combat. The thrust causes enemies to stumble and lose their balance, which gives you the opportunity to hit them. It also creates a little space between you and your opponent if you need a moment to regain stamina or prepare for the next blow.

Hit enemies several times in a row after pushing them to inflict as much damage as possible before you lose resistance. You'll also need to block incoming attacks during a fight to avoid unnecessary damage.

Hit your head to hurt more

As in most games, blows to the head will inflict more damage than blows to the rest of the body. To get the most out of each blow from your weapon and maximize the damage before your weapon breaks, try hitting enemies in the head as often as possible. There's also a slight chance you'll take the enemy down after hitting them over the head, giving you a chance to keep hitting or run away.

Follow these combat tips to get out unharmed from any combat in We Happy Few .
