What is the Demon's Souls release date on PS5?

Typically, Japanese RPGs are announced or, more likely, even leaked much earlier than their release date. When it comes to developer Bluepoint's Demon's Souls remake, the PS5 title apparently isn't afraid to break tradition. Many speculated that a complete rebuild of the game would take at least another year for release; However, there is new evidence that points to an extremely upcoming launch.

Although Demon's Souls was recently revealed at PlayStation's Future of Gaming event in June, Gematsu took to Twitter to show that the PS5 remake received a rating in Korea and Japan on August 13. How is this significant? Well, ratings aren't usually applied to games until a few months before they release. For example, the only other PS5 title reviewed in Korea is Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which Sony has confirmed will arrive at Holiday 2020.

So, if that's not a mistake, those anticipating the next-gen rendition of the cult classic from 2009 could play it by the end of the year. This is also not a scandalous claim, as the latest version of Bluepoint was back in February 2018 with its PS4 remake of Shadow of the Colossus. In addition, Gematsu estimated that other titles released by Sony Interactive like Days Gone, Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima were also rated in Korea two to three months before their release.

If this rating proves to be credible, it should also be noted that the country listed the title name as simply “Demon's Souls”. Sony has said there will be more events similar to the Future of Gaming event ahead of the PS5 launch. So we hope fans will receive confirmation of its launch window in the coming weeks.
