You can clean your smartphone using a number of very basic consumables.
- Drinking water or better if distilled or purified
- Cotton swabs
- A lint-free cloth (preferably 100% cotton)

Should I use alcohol?
Alcohol is good for use directly on many electronic components, but be careful as it can damage some types of plastics and rubbers and the oleophobic coating of the touch screen. It is also flammable. I generally see no benefit of using alcohol over water when cleaning the outer shell of a phone made of glass and plastic. Also, I can't find a single manufacturer that suggests using alcohol to clean your device. I therefore advise you to proceed only with water

1. Turn off the smartphone and, if possible, take the battery out of the unit. If you are using a cover, remove it completely.
2. Lightly moisten the cloth with water, then gently wipe each area of the phone. If you have sticky or rowdy grime on your phone, you may want to use hot water. Personally, I heated purified drinking water in the microwave for about 10 seconds.
3. For areas that are not easily accessible, use a cotton swab. Lightly dip the swab in the water and start cleaning each corner. Clean deeply between the keys on the keyboard and along the edges. Try not to let moisture into any openings or crevices.
4. Allow the phone to dry until dry. This is very important because if there is water around the moment you turn the device back on, you could create permanent damage to your smartphone.
