When will the next State of Play take place and what games to expect?

The PlayStation reveal event got the ball rolling for the upcoming PlayStation 5 launch. With a plethora of gaming reveals, fans got more than they expected from the event. However, it has been speculated that Sony is gearing up for another State of Play to reveal more highly speculated titles. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming State of Play.

When will the next inventory take place?

For the moment, Sony has not specified the release date of the next State of Play. However, several industry insiders have suggested that fans could see the next state of play as early as August. Popular elusive Roberto Serrano has announced that the next State of Play will take place on August 6, 2020.

Serrano had previously correctly predicted the date of the PlayStation reveal event as well as the games that will be revealed in the same. While its last report on the PS5 pricing announcement didn't turn out to be correct, its leak record has been pretty decent so far. The fact that the Xbox game reveals just concluded some more clues that Sony might be up to something for their fans as well.

What games to expect?

While Sony has already revealed a wide array of titles, it most likely has more in store. Some of the titles such as a sequel to God of War have already been the subject of significant discussion and are probably in development, so we might see that as well. Popular YouTuber and leaker Moore's Law is Dead are also reporting that Sony may also be working on the rebirth of a classic title, and that will be revealed in the event as a launch title, alongside the upcoming God of War game. According to reports, Mark Cerny himself will be working on this game.

Other than that, the upcoming Silent Hill game has long been the subject of speculation and rumor has it that it is a PlayStation exclusive. However, the game will likely be a gradual reboot and have no connection to Hideo Kojima or previous titles in the Silent Hill franchise.

Considering that the previously specified November release date for the PlayStation 5 is not far off, it makes sense that Sony has a few more showcases to decide on potential buyers. It shouldn't be long before we find out more about the upcoming State of Play and what Sony has in store for the PlayStation 5.
