10 best exclusive PlayStation 5 games

While some people may be shouting with their fingertips on the internet about anti-consumption, controller compatibility, and subscription services, the fact is that the next generation of hardware will not just bring a number. dull arguments about console warfare, but also a whole bunch of new games. Some of them will only be available on PlayStation 5. Some are really beautiful!

There are plenty of reasons to be excited no matter what console (s) you get (if any), and while we're not here to take sides, we've gone ahead and We've picked out a few PlayStation 5 exclusives to keep on your radar.

1) Western forbidden horizon

Part of what made Horizon Zero Dawn 2017 so fantastic was that it was a big risk for PlayStation and developer Guerrilla Games - any new IP is. Of course, it paid off in spades and was one of the best games on the PlayStation 4. Horizon Forbidden West is definitely a safer bet, given that it will build on the success of its predecessor, but we are nevertheless extremely excited. Aloy was a phenomenal character and it will be interesting to see how his story and the brilliant lore of this post-post-apocalyptic world unfolds. It will also be great to fight robotic dinosaurs without having to see the characters' hair flipping over their shoulders all the time.

2) Souls of the demon

The original's spiritual successor, Dark Souls, might get more attention, but that's only because Demon Souls has been locked down to the PlayStation 3 - until now. Bluepoint Games, the same people who recreated Shadow of the Colossus in 2018, seem to have done it again. This remake looks stellar and any fan of the Soulsborne series will want to jump into this action, especially if they've never had the chance before.

3) Return

The title may seem like it has something to do with a public restroom, but the game looks pretty interesting. This is a new IP from developer Housemarque and looks like a pretty cool combination of the Edge of Tomorrow and Annihilation movies. Hope this turns out to be as exciting as the trailer sounds.

4) Lost

Cyberpunk 2077 meets Cats? Yes please! While we haven't seen much more on this title since its initial preview, publisher Annapurna Interactive has a solid reputation for making bold and innovative games, such as What Remains of Edith Finch and the 2019 Undersea. GOTY, Outer Wilds. We think this could be their next little masterpiece. Did we mention that there are cats?

5) Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

The Ratchet & Clank series has long been a staple franchise for the PlayStation and this latest entry seems to live up to the hype and really use next-gen hardware. The interfaith mechanics are truly impressive and Clank has never looked so brilliant.

6) Model

Okay, okay, we realize we're cheating a bit with this one - Mockup is coming to PlayStation 4 as well - but it sounds too good not to mention. This indie title looks genuinely innovative with its implementation of recursive puzzles and is featured in the PlayStation Indies Initiative. We can't wait to get our hands on it.

7) Project Athia

While it's a bit of a letdown, this Square Enix-developed title isn't Final Fantasy's next main game, anyway it looks pretty radiant. Fantastic worlds with crazy monsters? Check. Jump on lush grounds? Check. Trendy sneakers? Check. And who knows, maybe it's a Final Fantasy game. Square Enix has done stranger things with marketing, that's for sure.

8) Gran Turismo 7

If you've heard of the Gran Turismo series, you know that this next entry will be one of the best racing games out there. If you haven't heard of the Gran Turismo series, we are willing to bet that you might not like console racing simulators. But maybe you are! Then you are welcome: now you know what to do.

9) Pragmata

What do we know about Pragmata so far? Not much beyond the fact that it looks as alluring as Death Stranding. That's a high bar both in terms of weirdness and grandeur, but developer Capcom has been on the right track lately and we're ready to move on.

10) Miles Morales from Marvel's Spider-Man

While there was initially some confusion over what Marvel's Spider-Man Miles Morales will be, it looks like it will be another stellar adventure (albeit smaller and standalone). Developer Insomniac Games took it out of the park with its first New York web swing and we're pretty sure they'll do it again with this one.
