Dyson Corrale review: the super-plate with the airplane mode

Dyson Corrale Review

Dyson Corrale Review - Few things bore me like drying and straightening my hair. Especially now, with my hair reaching new heights in length and no, I don't intend to fall into the trap of "okay, I'll cut it myself". The only possible solution therefore is to speed up the process and this is what allowed me to do Dyson Corrale.

It is the third product of the British company to fall into the category of "hair care" and, as usual, it has been studied in every detail. But the question is only one: is it worth buying it by spending 499 euros? Let's find out together in this review.

Coherence and modernity

Dyson Corrale's first unboxing was particularly satisfying. In fact, inside the package we find a comfortable velvet pouch for transport, the power supply with magnetic cable ed a base which allows you both to recharge it wirelessly and to keep it standing without having to place it on some surface, risking to ruin it with the heat.

Dyson Corrale review: the super-plate with the airplane modeObviously at the center of everything is her, Corrale, who manages to stand out from the competition right away. First of all because it proposes a clean and modern design, with that touch of color that gives it personality without betraying its elegance. The second important difference from similar products is the weight. Just over 500 grams which initially make it less manageable than other products. You will have to get used to it but trust me your efforts will pay off. In fact, Dyson Corrale is not heavy due to some engineering error but because inside we find a battery that allows it to work wirelessly. This solution not only gives you freedom during home use but also facilitates the transport of the plate during small and large movements.

Don't worry, you don't have to worry about any accidental switching on while Corrale is in your suitcase. Dyson has indeed integrated a small pin that you can remove to disconnect the battery when needed.

But let's go back to the central body that houses one switch and only 3 buttons. The first allows you to close and open the plate, making it easier to transport once again, while the others allow you to turn on the product and then raise or lower the temperature. Three steps are foreseen: 165 °, 185 ° and 210 °.
Finally available un display LED which allows you to check the set temperature while the power button integrates an additional red LED that indicates - together with an acoustic signal - when Corrale has reached the desired temperature.

Finally, allow me a final note on design. Here Dyson has done an excellent job in terms of utility because the soft curves of the plate are really perfect for making some curls. In short, nothing was left to chance.

Dyson Corrale review: everyday use

Dyson Corrale review: the super-plate with the airplane modeI belong to the category of people who have that unpleasant middle ground between rough and smooth. A limbo that forces you to make a decision to avoid looking continuously disheveled or waking up two minutes ago.

I therefore used Dyson Corrale about 3/4 times a week to be able to maintain a decent appearance and be so ready for the tide of video calls that storm my days in the last few weeks.

I'll tell you right away: I'm thrilled.

First of all heats up very quickly. Within 30 seconds it reaches the desired temperature after which you can start using it using one of the peculiarities of Dyson Corrale: the flexible sheets. The British company has developed a particular sheet in copper and manganese alloy which is mechanically processed and which is flexible. Unlike traditional plates Corrale can adapt to your hair to ensure even tension andd prevent them from sliding outwards. All this allows you to have greater control, especially useful for more complex hairstyles, but above all to use less heat. You will notice the result - and I have noticed it - after a handful of uses: the hair is actually less damaged.

The other important element is the tourmaline present on the edge of the laminae reduces that annoying electrostatic effect which I haven't really missed.

Once tested, then Dyson Corrale gives us great satisfaction. Honestly not even the weight was able to demoralize me because yes, it is not light and you need to get used to it, but in the end I use it for about ten minutes at a time, undoubtedly insufficient to start complaining about its 500 grams.

Autonomy

Dyson Corrale review: the super-plate with the airplane modeDyson Corrale hosts a four-cell lithium-ion battery which allows it to guarantee 30 minutes of cordless use. There are two elements that interest us here.

The first is the autonomy that yes, it is not a lot but for me 30 minutes are about 3 uses. Not bad at all, especially when I think about short trips. In fact, I will be able to put it in the trolley or backpack to use it in the evening for a possible dinner and in the morning before returning to Milan, so as to be presentable before the flight.

The second element concerns the ability to use it with wire. This means that once the battery is discharged you can still use Dyson Corrale by connecting it directly to the power supply. You will not therefore have to interrupt the styling phase and wait but you can complete the job in complete tranquility.

The only obvious problem is with the charging times. 70 minutes to have half an hour of independence are quite a lot, especially if a hair styler is using the straightener. However, I would like to point out that most of the battery (about 90%) is recharged in 30 minutes, the remaining 10% in the next 40 minutes. A strategy that should allow the product to last over time.

Dyson Corrale review: buy it or not?

Dyson Corrale follows the philosophy of many of the English company's products: a lot of quality at a really important price.

Until a few months ago, spending 150 euros for a plate was already a small sacrifice for me, but it was often repaid by the goodness of the results and the duration of the product. Today Dyson asks us to spend 499. They are not at all few.

This choice places us in front of an evidence: Corrale is not for everyone. However, its usefulness for two particular categories is undoubted: on the one hand we have industry professionals who are sure to fully exploit it and certainly for a long time, on the other hand we have hardened travelers who are sure to use it often. The portability and convenience of this product will inspire you to take it on airplanes, on trains, even in your bag for a quick touch-up before an important dinner or business lunch.
